Anirudh Goswami
Anirudh is recognized for bringing a holistic approach having worked across the realms of business strategy and non profit sectors, with a focus on improving sustainability through targeted interventions.
Anirudh is passionate about the about the environment, conservation, sustainability and new ideas that truly have the potential to bring lasting change – roots of which lie in his spending his formative years in the tea estates of Upper Assam. While gaining his education, Anirudh witnessed a changing world that was rapidly urbanising – something very different from what he saw in Assam at the time. This was the seed to his wanting to bring change to the region. His belief, that long lasting impact will come with economic change – job creation of which was the central pillar.
In 2010, Anirudh founded BORBHAG with the objective to take investments to North East India and help the region prosper, Anirudh was instrumental in bringing new technologies and concepts.
From then, he has continued to build on this vision. Today, he is sought for his expertise in building and executing government affairs programs for large multinationals across a diverse set of sectors - identifying growth opportunities, managing business critical risks and taking new concepts from ideation to implementation – all with a focus on shared value and contributing to sustainable change.
His commitment to socially relevant causes led, Anirudh to found and run two not-for-profit organizations. Towards this, he conceptualized the first smart village in Northeast India and is responsible for revival of a Mughal-era park in the heart of Delhi. He continues to dedicate time to his nonprofit work. He has also travelled across the state of Assam capturing stories of inspirational entrepreneurs from every corner of the state. An avid sportsperson, Anirudh hosts an annual golf tournament – The BORBHAG Cup, with a goal to build camaraderie through sports.
Anirudh received his Master’s Degree in Political Studies from the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi (India), Bachelors of Arts in History, Economics & Political Science from St. Josephs’ College of Arts & Sciences, Bangalore (India) & is an alumni of The Doon School, Dehra Dun (India). He is currently based in Delhi with this wide and daughter.
